Crowdtap: Hotel Transylvannia Guest Hosted Party!!

YEAH!!! I was accepted by Crowdtap to host a Hotel Transylvania Guest party. My kids are so excited about this movie and super excited to get to have the party.

So the party is tomorrow and I have been running around like crazy getting ready!! We just moved a few weeks ago so I have been digging thru boxes looking for my baking accessories and thank goodness I found them :) One of the requirements for having the party is to make cupcakes so we decided to get out the cute Halloween cookie cutters and fondant icing and make ghosts as cupcake toppers and I have to say they turned out really really cute.
Me making the ghosts toppers!!

I have found that it is easier to use the fondant in small batches so the ghosts were rolled one at a time.

Fondant ghosts

The first cupcake is ready for the party!!!!!

For those of you who may be interested in how these were made it is so simple and here is what you need:
Wilton Ready to Use Pure White Rolled Fondant (pic is above for example)
Wilton Black Icing Color for the eyes and mouth (pic is above for example)
Ghost Cookie Cutter
Confectioner sugar
Rolling pin
Toothpick
Foil or Parchment Paper

You will need to lay out some foil or parchment paper and sprinkle it with the confectioner sugar, this keeps your fondant from sticking. Cut off a piece of your fondant and roll it in your hands to warm it up and make it soft for rolling. Place it on the sugared area and flatten with your hand then using a rolling pin, or anything that can be used to roll it flat, roll it out. Once you have it to the thickness you desire cut your ghost out with the cookie cutter. Dust off any sugar that may have gotten on top of your ghost and move it to a clean piece of foil or parchment paper for drying. Once you have all your little spooks made dip a toothpick into the black icing color and make your eyes and mouths. For the mouth you will need to stick it in the fondant and rotate the toothpick outwards to make a larger opening for the mouth, just don't go all the way thru your icing. Leave your ghosts out to dry over night and they will be ready to use!!

Oh my goodness we had the party today and it was so much fun!!! We had family and friends over and filled up on homemade goodies and enjoyed fun activites together. Some were in costume, while others weren't, some of the boys thought they were too big to dress up, it makes me sad that my son has hit that phase. My best friend brought her son, my brother and his family were here as well as grandparents, the neighbors stopped in and my son's best friend and his dad came. SO MUCH FUN!!!

After everyone's tummies were full of goodies I cleared the table and passed out all the fun activites that came in the party pack. There were coloring pages, puzzels and games, masks...
